Decide on a license that aligns well your business requirements. Technically, there are five categories of Umm Al Quwain free zone licenses: 1) Commercial License (or Trading License), 2) Consultancy License, 3) Service License, 4) Industrial License and 5) Freelance Permit. However, the Commercial License comes in two types: Commercial License and General Trading License. Know more about each license here. Choose the entity
There are three options when it comes to establishing a business within UAQ FTZ:
- A Free Zone Establishment (FZE), which is suitable for a single shareholder
- A Free Zone Company (FZC), which is for two and up to 50 shareholders
- A branch of an existing UAE or foreigncompany Note: No matter the entity, your business setup in Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone does not require any local sponsor. Foreign nationals can enjoy 100% ownership rights over their business.

Submit appropriate documents for FZE, FZC and branches. Make the Payment
Upon submitting the document, UAQ FTZ staff will raise an invoice whereupon payment will be required. The process of business setup in Umm Al Quwain Free Zone is considered complete only when the payment is made.
receive trade license and activate your business
Upon making payment,the entity will be licensed from UAQ Free Trade Zone Authority. Any queries can be addressed to the designated client relationship manager. As soon as the license has been issued,the business is ready to begin trading within UAQ FTZ. At this moment the residence visa can be applied for and the bank account opened.
