UAQ FTZ marks a significant growth of 40% percent in 2021
UAQ FTZ had tremendous growth in the year 2021. We exceeded our ambitious business objectives and delivered above target. The recent accomplishment reflects UAQ FTZ's vital role in supporting the emirate's and nation's economies throughout the current pandemic. UAQ FTZ had launched a variety of business support plans for valued customers in order to assist them in keeping their business afloat during the pandemic.

The new UAQ FTZ headquarters, One UAQ, was inaugurated on June 6th, 2021, which is situated on major Highway E311, provides easy access to all the emirates of the UAE and major airports and seaports, ensuring easy access to the rest of the world. The multifaceted building provides several amenities to customers, such as a central reception, conference halls, meeting rooms, small and medium-sized office spaces, and Amaal services to add to customer convenience. The new free zone location had amplified trade inflow as well as potential business, which in turn enhanced the overall growth and development at UAQ Free Zone.
 
UAE inaugurates Phase 1 of the Umm Al Quwain water desalination plant to ensure water security
HE Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, has originally inaugurated Phase 1 of the $599 million (AED2.2 billion) UAQ desalination plant, which is being built on 250,000 square meters at a cost of about AED2.2 billion to provide world-class quality water using the best standards for the marine environment.

An Overview of the New Labour Law 

The New Federal Law No 33 of 2021 (“New Law”) introduces a raft of measures designed to modernise employment legislation and bring it in line with international best practices and provide greater protection for employees. The new amendments clearly defines the intention of the UAE Government in providing both UAE Citizens and expats greater protection and more flexibility at the work place.

 
UAE to introduce corporate tax to accelerate development
Earlier in 2018, The UAE Government introduced a value-added tax on most goods and services at a standard rate of 5 percent. For the first time, the United Arab Emirates plans to impose a federal corporate tax (CT) of 9% on business profits starting from June 1, 2023, to boost the UAE's development and align with global best practices.

UAE to become the global hub for coders and digital economy

The UAE government has established a 'Coders HQ' to support local and global coding communities in partnership with more than 40 tech companies, government, semi-government private and academic entities, including Meta, Majid Al Futtaim Holding, Microsoft, IBM, ADNOC, Yallo Group, Le Wagon and DP World, the new Emirates Towers, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. 
 
UAE launches a blockchain technology to authenticate digital documents

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has launched a new platform called "UAE Verify" that uses blockchain technology, which is a shared immutable real-time ledger for recording the history of financial transactions, contracts, and other documents.

Gulf Food Exhibition 2022

The Gulf Food Exhibition, the region's largest food and beverage exhibition, will be hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre from February 13th to 17th, 2022, where UAQ Free Trade Zone will introduce its services and facilities to food manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers and many more.
Tajikistan & UAE Investment Business Forum

UAQ FTZ attended the Business Tajikistan & UAE Investment Business Forum on 22 Dec 2021, Dubai to discuss the different investment opportunities and incentives available to foreign companies, as well as the services and facilities provided by UAQ FTZ. Investment possibilities, projects, and priority areas in the Republic of Tajikistan were highlighted during the Forum. Other government agencies, corporations, and individuals also took part.
