In a groundbreaking move to enhance business operations across its seven emirates, the UAE Ministry of Economy has launched the National Economic Registry (NER) – Growth. This innovative platform serves as a comprehensive database, consolidating the processes and requirements for establishing businesses and engaging in economic activities into a single national portal, ultimately revolutionizing government service delivery.
During the launch event, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy, emphasized the UAE’s dedication to embracing innovative solutions under its visionary leadership. He stated, “The ‘Growth’ platform represents a significant milestone in strengthening our national economy. It eliminates bureaucratic obstacles and provides highly efficient government services, ensuring that the UAE remains a leader in delivering exceptional government services globally.”
The NER boasts insights into over 2,000 economic activities and delivers proactive services tailored for decision-makers, business owners, investors, and research institutions. It simplifies inquiries related to business licenses, investment opportunities, and market trends, empowering business growth through advanced digital management fueled by AI technology.
Bin Touq further highlighted that the NER connects 46 entities nationwide via a unified economic number (ERN), streamlining data integration and minimizing paperwork. This initiative aligns with the ambitious ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision, paving the way for enhanced transparency in business performance and strengthening the UAE’s global credit rating.
With plans to link the platform to 100 federal and local entities and expand services to 500 within two years, the NER signifies a pivotal advancement in the UAE's transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
